Report: Midfielder linked with Spurs still waiting for concrete offers

According to a report in Calcio Mercato, Inter midfielder Matias Vecino, who has been linked with a move to Spurs, is still waiting to have concrete offers on the table.

The report claims Inter are working on deals to sign multiple players before the end of the month, including Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen.

In order to fund their January spending, the Italian giants are said to looking to move a couple of players on, including Vecino.

The 28-year-old, who has been an ever-present in the Inter midfield for the past couple of seasons, has made 14 appearances in the Serie A for Antonio Conte’s side this season (transfermarkt).

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claimed last week that Tottenham were close to reaching an agreement with Inter to sign the Uruguayan international while FC Inter News reported that Everton were also keen on the midfielder.

However, if the latest report from Calcio Mercato is to be believed, the Nerazzurri are yet to receive an offer from either Spurs or the Toffees for Vecino.

Spurs Web Opinion

This looks like one of those rumours that the player’s agent propped up. I cannot see us signing Vecino now that we’ve already landed Fernandes as we are quite well stocked for centre midfielders. Signing at least one full-back and a striker should be the club’s priority in the last ten days of the transfer window.
