According to a report from Milan News, rumoured Tottenham target Franck Kessie has decided against signing a new contract with AC Milan regardless of what the Italian club are willing to offer.
Tottenham reportedly expressed their interest in Kessie during the summer transfer window but the midfielder ended up staying put at the San Siro despite having less than 12 months left to run on his contract.
It has been rumoured that Spurs are looking to snap up the Ivory Coast international as a free agent next summer.
Paris Saint-Germain are also allegedly following the midfielder’s situation, with reports suggesting last week that the Ligue 1 giants could even make an offer for the 24-year-old during the January transfer window.
Milan News have now explained that the Rossoneri are set to admit defeat in their efforts to get Kessie to commit his future to the club.
The report states that it is ‘now clear to everyone’ that the midfielder will not be putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Serie A club.
Kessie’s actions are referred to as a ‘betrayal’ that is even worse than Gianluigi Donnarumma’s after the goalkeeper left Milan to join PSG on a free transfer this summer.
This is because the midfielder is alleged to have told Milan during the summer that he loves the club and planned on signing a new deal.

If Kessie becomes available for a cut-price deal in January or as a free agent next summer, one would expect plenty of clubs around Europe to vie for the midfielder’s signature. Let us hope Paratici can use his contacts to move to the front of the queue for the 24-year-old.
