Report: Midfielder not named in Spurs squad; heading out on loan

Tottenham are reported to be looking for potential suitors for Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen before the transfer deadline at 11pm tomorrow.

While it is unclear if Tottenham will move for any of their targets this late in the window, the club would need to sell players before they can add to their squad due to the club’s difficulty in fulfilling the homegrown player rule.

It has now emerged that Spurs might have found a club for Nkoudou. According to a report in L’Equipe, AS Monaco are set to take Nkoudou back to Ligue 1 on loan until the end of the season.

The French club who recently sacked their manager Thierry Henry are languishing in the relegation zone at the moment and are trying to recruit players who will help them avoid the drop.

The 23-year-old winger who never consistently challenged for a starting berth his since arriving at Spurs in 2016, has a good record in the French League during his stints with Marseille and Nantes.

It was the winger’s cross that was headed in by Winks to bag all three points for Spurs in their last Premier League outing against Fulham.

The Frenchman was handed a start in the FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace on Sunday but failed to impress. If reports are to believed, that might be Nkoudou’s last appearance in a Spurs shirt.
