Report: Midfielder’s agent set to fly to London ahead of potential Spurs switch

Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that Nicolo Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli is set to fly to London over the coming days ahead of his client’s potential switch to Tottenham.

Some contradictory reports have emerged regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Zaniolo over the last 23 hours, with 90 min reporting that the North London club are edging closer to striking a deal with Roma for the 23-year-old while Fabrizio Romano has said on his YouTube channel that they two clubs are still far apart.

The matter is further complicated by reports over the last few days which indicate that AC Milan could look to enter the race for the Italy international.

CalcioMercato claimed on Monday that Milan could launch a loan offer with an obligation to buy for €22m (£19.3m) as they are aware that Zaniolo would prefer to remain in Italy rather than move to England.

Gazzetta have now offered a much more promising update, revealing that Fabio Paratici met with the winger’s agent on Saturday and the pair are due to meet again in London this week.

The publication suggests that despite also attracting interest from the likes of West Ham United and Leicester City, Zaniolo has made it clear that he prefers a move to Spurs out of the Premier League clubs.

Spurs Web Opinion

Just like the Pedro Porro deal, it seems like Tottenham are not really negotiating for any alternative options to Zaniolo. That is very un-Paratici-like and suggests to me that the club are relatively confident of getting a deal for the Roma star over the line before the window closes. However, rumours that AC Milan could be keen are a cause for urgency.
