Report: Midfielder’s move to Premier League is ‘well underway’ with Spurs linked

Rumoured Tottenham target Morgan Sanson is set for a summer move to the Premier League, according to Le Phocéen.

The French outlet claim the 25-year-old could finally be set for a move to the English top flight with Marseille in need to offload players in order to fund their own transfer plans this summer.

It is reported that Sanson’s transfer to the Premier League is ‘well underway’ with Spurs said to be a potential candidate for his signature.

Spurs ‘absolutely want to recruit’ a player of Sanson’s position, according to the report given the problems they are experienced with club record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

In his 27 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Sanson has netted on five occasions and provided five assists (Transfermarkt).

However, they claim Marseille will hold out for €35m for Sanson and are willing to wait it out to get their desired amount.

This rumour has circulated for years and nothing has materialised. Going by the report, Marseille do need to offload players before they start signing in the summer window, however, they may struggle if they hold out for their full valuation of Sanson and as Spurs seem set on bringing Hojbjerg in this summer, a move to Spurs looks unlikely.
