Report: ‘Monster’ defender linked with Spurs left out of squad

Tottenham Hotspur have previously been linked with the South Korean ‘monster’, Kim Min-jae over a potential summer move (Telegraph).

The centre-back was left out of Beijing Guoan’s squad for their 2-1 victory over Chongqing Lifan on Sunday (Xinhua).

The 23-year-old had 14-day quarantine after returning to China later than expected (Sky Sports) but it is unknown whether he is still in isolation.

The Sunday Mirror (21/06, p72) have previously suggested that his compatriot Heung-min Son could play a key role in persuading him to move to North London.

Beijing Guoan are back in action at the weekend when they host Wuhan Zall and it remains to be seen whether the defender will be recalled.

Spurs Web Opinion

Mourinho is set on strengthening his defence. I am sure if Heung-min Son does not believe Kim Min-jae is good enough for Spurs he would have told the Spurs hierarchy. From the brief video clips I have seen he certainly looks a ‘monster’ but I have not seen any extensive coverage of the defender.
