Report: More than five clubs were interested in signing player – Now seems set for Spurs

The Daily Mail have reported that Tottenham beat a number of other interested parties to the imminent signing of free agent Joe Hart.

Hart left Burnley when his contract expired in June and has been a popular man over the past couple of months in terms of transfer interest.

The Mail claim that Leeds United had discussed signing the former England captain, while Celtic, Derby County, and Blackburn Rovers also wanted the shot-stopped.

Not only this, but Hart apparently had multiple offers from Turkey too, although the report adds that he is set to join Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Mail report that Hart will be on a two-year contract with the Lilywhites, earning around £50,000 per week.

Hart brings a wealth of experience to the Spurs dressing room having won two Premier League trophies, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and four Golden Gloves throughout his distinguished career, as well as earning 75 caps for England (Wikipedia).
