According to a report by GiveMeSport, Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in Queens Park Rangers midfielder, Eberechi Eze, ahead of the summer transfer window.
Eze’s future has been subject to a lot of speculation over the past few months with reports installing Tottenham as the favourites to land the 22-year-old this summer (The Sun).
The attacking midfielder, who has netted 12 goals and 8 assists in the Championship this season (transfermarkt.com), has already opened up on his ambition to play at the highest level (The Beautiful Game Podcast via Football.London).
GiveMeSport now reveals that the QPR star is one of Tottenham’s primary targets this summer and that the club’s recruitment team ‘love’ the way he plays.
Jose Mourinho also reportedly admires Eze as a player and would like to have him in the squad next season.
The report suggests that QPR have little choice but to sell the England Under-21 international this summer as he has just one year left to run on his contract.
While Spurs are expected to make an offer for Eze, the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham United are also credited with an interest in him.
Spurs Web Opinion
Based on the links with the likes of Coutinho, Fraser and Willian, it does look like Spurs are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this summer. Eze would be a relatively low-risk option since he is unlikely to be too expensive and the potential pay off in the deal is huge given the 22-year-old’s undoubted potential.
