Report: Mourinho and his coaching staff believe Spurs star is ready to ‘explode’

Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff expect Giovani Lo Celso to become a focal point of the Tottenham Hotspur side in the coming years, according to a report by Football Insider.

Lo Celso had a difficult first few months in North London after initially arriving on a loan deal from Real Betis last summer.

However, the 24-year-old started to show his class once he overcame his injury problems and got a run in the side.

The North Londoners took the option to sign the midfielder permanently during the January transfer window, and since then, the Argentine has arguably been Tottenham’s most consistent player.

Football Insider claim that Mourinho and his coaches believe that Lo Celso is ready to ‘explode’ and that he is capable of being the team’s main architect in the middle of the park for many years to come.

The Spurs boss is said to be convinced the former PSG man is capable of providing industry and creativity and control in midfield.

Tottenham are reportedly trying to build their team around Lo Celso, with the club said to be targeting a centre-back, a right-back, a defensive midfielder and a striker when the transfer window opens.

Lo Celso was not someone Jose initially favoured when he arrived at Spurs but the midfielder has won the Spurs boss over. So it shows that the same is possible for someone like Ndombele if he can get his head down and put in the required work on the training field.
