Report: Mourinho and his staff are convinced that Tottenham youngster will be future PL star

Football Insider have revealed that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff have high hopes on Oliver Skipp and believe the youngster has the potential to be a future Premier League star.

Skipp got a few appearances under his belt before the suspension of the league last season and earned Mourinho’s praise for his performances.

He was loaned out to Norwich City for the season after penning a four-year contract with Tottenham, and the England Under-21 international has started very brightly at Carrow Road, taking home the club’s Player of the Month award for October.

Football Insider reveals that Mourinho and the Spurs coaches believe Skipp could be ready to star in the Premier League and the Champions League with a couple of seasons of senior football under his belt.

The North Londoners reportedly sent Skipp to Norwich as they felt the Canaries’ style of play would suit him and they expect the club to push for promotion.

The report asserts that the Spurs boss had no hesitation in green lighting a contract for the midfielder in the summer and he expects him to play a big role at the club in the future.

Apart from potential weaknesses in central defence, the one area of our squad that needs reinforcement is in holding midfield where we lack a natural replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Skipp seems to be tailor-made for the role and perhaps he could be used on a rotational basis with the Dane next season.
