Report: Mourinho and his staff have been left ‘blown away’ by Spurs new boy

According to Football Insider, Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff have been blown away by the quality that Sergio Reguilon has shown since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur.

Reguilon’s arrival at Tottenham was arguably overshadowed by some of the club’s other summer acquisitions but the left-back has already shown that he can go on to become an important player for the North Londoners.

The Spain international was one of several Spurs stars who put in lacklustre displays on Thursday as the club were overturned 1-0 by Royal Antwerp.

However, putting yesterday’s performance aside, Reguilon has made a great start to life at Tottenham and it looks as though he has already won over his new head coach and teammates.

Football Insider claim that the defender’s coaches and teammates often use words like “phenomenal” and “brilliant” to describe him and that they believe he has all the attributes to go on to become a Premier League star.

The report asserts that Mourinho and his coaching staff view the former Real Madrid man as the perfect modern-day full-back due to the energy he possesses, his pace, ability to defend and his crossing.

One can argue that Reguilon has made the biggest impact among our seven new arrivals apart from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. He seems to have adapted quickly to his new surroundings both on and off the pitch. Hopefully, this is just the start of things to come and the left-back will get better and better as he gets accustomed to English football.
