Report: Mourinho asks Spurs to sign him this centre-back in summer window

La Razon have reported that Jose Mourinho has asked the Tottenham hierarchy to sign him Diego Carlos from Sevilla in the summer transfer market (relayed by Sport Witness).

It is said that Mourinho wants to strengthen his defence in North London and ‘wants to bring’ Carlos to the club as part of that rebuild.

The report goes on to reveal that Sevilla are under pressure to make a big sale in the summer window in order to balance their finances amidst the pandemic.

The 28-year-old Brazilian centre-half has reportedly got a €75m release clause but it is claimed that Sevilla may be interested in a swap deal with Davinson Sanchez.

The Colombian has struggled this season in North London and it is reported that he may drop down the pecking order if Spurs sign a new centre-back anyway. Sevilla are apparently keen on taking advantage of this fact in order to sign Sanchez.

However, the Spanish club could look towards Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi instead, which would leave Spurs asking for a discount on Carlos’ release clause.
