TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that AS Roma could make a move for rumoured Tottenham target Davide Frattesi in January.
Frattesi has been one of Sassuolo’s most consistent performers since the start of last season and the midfielder has seemingly caught the attention of clubs in the Serie A as well as the Premier League.
Sassuolo News reported in October that Spurs are monitoring the midfielder while Il Resto del Carlino claimed last month that the North London club could face competition from Manchester United and Brighton for the 23-year-old’s signature.
However, if TWW’s latest update is to be believed, Roma could be the ones to make the first move for Frattesi.
The report claims that the Giallorossi are looking for reinforcements in midfield after an injury to Georginio Wijnaldum and that Jose Mourinho has asked the club to snap up the Sassuolo star.
TWM add that Alessio Dionisi’s side would consider selling Frattesi next month if a suitable offer comes their way.
Spurs Web Opinion
Out of all the midfielders we have been linked with over the last few months, Frattesi (and Alexis Mac Allister) would be the best fit for Tottenham. This is because, unlike Adrien Rabiot and Sofyan Amarbat, they are better suited to operating as number eights in a 3-5-2.
