Report: Mourinho has doubts about Spurs signing this player on a free transfer

Jose Mourinho is now said to be questioning a move for Ryan Fraser amidst rumours that Spurs are interested in the soon-to-be free agent, according to the Daily Star.

On Wednesday, the Scottish winger rejected a short-term agreement with Bournemouth to see the season out at the Cherries (BBC).

The 26-year-old is thought to have rejected the deal on the basis that he wants to avoid an injury that could prove problematic to him finding a new club in the summer.

However, the winger’s hopes of joining Spurs have been put under threat with Mourinho reportedly questioning the 26-year-old’s ability.

Spurs recently signed winger, Steven Bergwijn in January and already have Lucas Moura, Heung-min Son and Erik Lamela who can all play out wide.

Fraser has also been linked with Tottenham’s North London rivals, Arsenal with new boss Mikel Arteta said to be interested in the free-agent (Metro).

Despite Spurs questioning the potential signing, Fraser is expected to attract a lot of attention from mid-table clubs.

For me, it is not a signing that would excite nor make a great deal of sense. Perhaps with the club having a better understanding of who could be leaving this summer, it could make sense to them. However, from a fan point of view, I feel we have better on the bench already.
