Report: Mourinho keen to move for Spurs player who ‘wants a change of scenery’

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Jose Mourinho is keen for Roma to make a move for Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

After missing the first few games of the season, the Frenchman has emerged as a mainstay in the Tottenham midfield under Nuno Espirito Santo, starting each of the clubs last five Premier League fixtures.

However, Ndombele’s form has not quietened down rumours of an exit from North London, especially after his reported request to leave the club in the summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport now report that former Spurs boss Mourinho is keeping tabs on the midfielder, who allegedly ‘wants a change of scenery’, and is considering making a move to sign him for Roma.

The publication claims that Ndombele was a favourite of the Portuguese coach during his time at Spurs, despite the problems hinted between them in the past.

However, Roma would not be alone in their interest, with Spanish side Sevilla also keeping tabs on his situation in N17.

Rumours surrounding Ndombele’s future will always occur after the attempts he made to leave the club in the last couple of transfer windows.

He has hit a decent patch of form for the club, though, and again it is unlikely that Spurs would be looking to sell a player of his calibre that easily.
