Report: Mourinho may decide to keep hold of recent signing

According to a report by Football.London, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho might choose not to loan Jack Clarke out to another club for the second half of the season and instead keep him in North London for the remainder of the campaign.

The 19-year-old who joined from Leeds United in the summer was subsequently loaned back to the Championship club but failed to get any significant game time in the first half of the season.

In fact, he only made three appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s men all season, two of which came in the Carabao Cup (transfermarkt).

Tottenham have recalled Clarke from Leeds due to lack of game time and Football.London claims that Brentford and Fulham are both keen on taking the winger for the rest of the season.

However, it is also suggested that Mourinho might instead decide to keep hold of Clarke and will report for training with the first team in the New Year.

Spurs Web Opinion

Since Mourinho loves countering with pace, he has always liked to play with out-and-out wingers. That is why it is possible that he might take to Clarke like he seems to have done with Sessegnon. A lot will likely depend on whether Clarke impresses Mourinho and the coaching staff on his return to Spurs.
