Report: Mourinho pressing Tottenham board to make offer for this striker

Jose Mourinho is pushing hard for Spurs to sign Fenerbahce striker, Vedat Muriqi, according to the latest reports from Turkey.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Tottenham’s proposed move for Muriqi in the Turkish press over the last few weeks.

Fanatik reported at the start of April that Tottenham were set to return for the striker’s services in the summer after failing to land him in January.

Fotomac (via Sport Witness) claimed last week that the North Londoners were still keen on a move for the striker as they viewed him as ideal cover for Harry Kane.

Takvim (as relayed by Sport Witness) now reveals that Jose Mourinho is directly behind the club’s pursuit of the 26-year-old. The Spurs boss is said to be pressing the Tottenham board to make an offer for the player.

It is suggested that a bid of little over €15 million is set to arrive from the Lilywhites and that Fenerbahce are likely to accept.

The report asserts that there is strong interest in the Kosovo international from Lazio and Napoli as well but Muriqi prefers a move to the Premier League.

Spurs Web Opinion

We have been linked with Muriqi almost on a weekly basis from January, which suggests that the interest is concrete. The striker won’t be too expensive and would probably be content to play a bit-part role initially. He will offer us a physical presence up front and a plan B which we have been missing since Llorente left.
