All Nigeria Soccer has revealed that Jose Mourinho has promoted Tottenham academy goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi to the first-team.
Mourinho has a reputation as a coach who prefers to work with tried and tested players over up and coming youngsters.
However, the Spurs boss has demonstrated during his time in North London that he is more than happy to blood young players from the academy.
While Mourinho handed Premier League debuts to Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga last season, the likes of Jack Clarke, Dane Scarlett, Harvey White, Nile John, Alfie Whiteman and Marcel Lavinier have all made their senior bows across different competitions this season.
All Nigeria Soccer claim that Oluwayemi is the latest Spurs academy graduate who has been handed an opportunity to impress.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper is said to be training with Tottenham’s first-team squad after Alfie Whiteman sustained an injury.
It is revealed that Whiteman has undergone surgery on his left knee after tearing his meniscus and is not expected to return to training until May.
