Report: Mourinho relishing prospect of Tottenham transfer challenge

Tottenham are likely to suffer a significant financal blow if the rest of the Premier League campaign, as well as a part of next season is played behind closed doors due to the huge reliance on matchday revenue (Football Insider).

Transfer expert Duncan Castles has previously said that Jose Mourinho will not have any money to spend this summer (Transfer Window Podcast).

Despite the obvious constraints that Tottenham have this summer, Jose Mourinho confidently said in an interview to Sky Sports last month that he wants to win a Premier League title with the North Londoners.

If a report in The Mirror is to be believed, the Spurs boss is certainly not dreading the fact that he will not have a big transfer kitty at his disposal this summer.

It is said that the 57-year-old is relishing the challenge of reshaping the squad on a shoestring budget and helping Spurs to compete next season.

Mourinho is already said to be planning for next season and is looking at various free transfers, loans and swaps that can be completed this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Jose has asserted from day one at Spurs that he is very happy with the squad he has at his disposal and that it just needs a few tweaks. If Jose doesn’t feel certain areas of the squad are up to the mark, he is not someone who will be shy of saying it publically, as seen during his time at Manchester United.

So there is reason to think that he believes we are good enough to compete with the top sides. Hopefully, we will notice a considerable improvement in the side when the season resumes as he will have had time to work with them on the training ground.
