Tottenham Hotspur have a number of promising young academy talents at this moment in time, but Troy Parrott is perhaps the jewel in the crown.
Unfortunately, the 17-year-old has Harry Kane between him and the first-team, while it is also quite rare for a player so young to jump straight from academy to first-team.
Perhaps the two best examples are Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, although the majority have to go out on loan spell after loan spell before getting a chance.
However, it appears that this may not happen with Parrott, as Mourinho has reportedly blocked any talk of a loan for the Irishman in January (Football Insider).
Instead, Jose wants to tie the player down to a new contract in North London, keeping him in the first-team set-up for the full season.
His current contract runs until 2021, and Parrott recently made his Premier League debut under Mourinho against Burnley last weekend.
