Report: Mourinho wants at least four new signings this month

According to a report in the Independent, Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in four new players to the squad in January.

The Spurs boss has so far been tight-lipped about the club’s aim in the transfer market and has insisted that he is happy with the squad at his disposal (Football.London).

However, if the report in the Independent is to be believed, the Portuguese coach has been bluffing the media and has asked the club for considerable reinforcements this month.

The report claims that Mourinho wants to sign two forwards in order to help the team cope with the loss of injured star Harry Kane.

Additionally, he is also said to be keen on adding another central midfielder to the squad with Christian Eriksen likely on his way out of the club. It is reported that the Tottenham boss also wants to sign a centre back to help solve the team’s defensive issues.

These claims are consistent with the type of players we have been linked to so far this month. While I completely understand the need to strengthen our forward line as well as our midfield, I personally think we are in more urgent need of reinforcements at full back than at centre half.
