Report: Mourinho wants Spurs to nab rumoured Man City target in January

According to a report in the Independent, Jose Mourinho has handed a list of targets for Tottenham to secure in January and primary in that list is Benfica defender Ruben Dias.

The 22-year-old centre half has been a rock at the back for the Portuguese giants for the last two seasons and has won several admirers across Europe.

The Daily Mirror have previously reported that Pep Guardiola wants Manchester City to land Dias in January while Manchester United are also said to be keen.

Jose Mourinho insisted in his first press conference as Spurs manager yesterday that he was quite happy with the squad he has at his disposal and that he didn’t need any more players (Football.London).

However, if the report in the Independent is to be believed, then the Portuguese has indeed handed Levy a shopping list with Dias set to be one of the main names in it.

TBR Football claim that the defender currently has a £59m release clause but that Benfica are trying to increase his buy-out price to £79m.
