Report: Mourinho wants to bring Real Madrid starlet to Spurs

According to a report from Defensa Central (as relayed by TBR Football), Jose Mourinho wants to bring Real Madrid starlet Miguel Gutierrez to Tottenham in the summer.

Gutierrez is said to be one of the most promising talents currently in the Castilla youth set up, with many at the club having high hopes of the youngster.

The left-back is expected to take over from Marcelo for Real Madrid in the coming years. Although the 19-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for Los Blancos, he is reportedly rated very highly by Zinedine Zidane.

The report claims that Mourinho previously wanted to take the defender to Manchester United during his time in charge of the Red Devils.

Having failed to lure him to Old Trafford, the Portuguese coach is said to be keen on bringing him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, it is revealed that Gutierrez might reject Tottenham’s advances as the youngster has his heart set on breaking into the Madrid first-team.

Spurs Web Opinion

With two competent left-backs in Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies, as well as two promising youngsters in Ryan Sessegnon and Dennis Cirkin at the club, I do not see the point in trying to sign Gutierrez.

The 19-year-old would likely have to be convinced that he will get first-team opportunities at Spurs in order to leave Real Madrid. So, this move looks extremely unlikely.
