Report: Mourinho wants to make five more summer signings in these key positions

Football Insider have claimed that Jose Mourinho hopes to bring in five more signings this summer, after the club’s successful acquisition of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg earlier this week.

The report revealed that the club could have a busy summer with the Spurs boss planning a large scale rebuild.

It is claimed that Mourinho is delighted that Spurs have been able to secure Hojbjerg’s signature, with the midfielder said to be the club’s top priority this summer.

It is alleged that the North Londoners want to bring in another right-back, a centre-back, an attacking midfielder, a striker who can operate across the front-line, and a backup goalkeeper.

The report claims that, in order to complete deals for their targets, the club will have to raise significant funds through player sales.

It is suggested that the Lilywhites aim to do that by cashing in on Serge Aurier, Juan Foyth, Danny Rose and Cameron Carter-Vickers and Erik Lamela.

Spurs Web Opinion

If it is true that Mourinho wants to bring in a striker that can play across the front-line, then that means that he is not looking for a ‘Plan B’ who can cover for Kane but rather someone who can also work well in a partnership with the England captain. That would suggest that we are more likely to go for a striker in the mould of Callum Wilson than a centre-forward in the mould of Arkadiusz Milik.
