Report: Mourinho wants two new signings in January regardless of Vertonghen future

Tottenham Hotspur will now have the opportunity to bring in some new players if they choose to do so, with the January transfer window wide open.

However, the January window also marks the chance for Jan Vertonghen to talk to any non-English clubs about a potential move in the summer.

Vertonghen has just six months left on his current deal in North London, meaning that he could well leave on a free at the end of the season, unless he signs a new contract.

Despite his future being up in the air, it is said that Jose Mourinho wants two new signings this month, regardless of whether Jan stays (Daily Star).

It is said that Mourinho wants a new central defender and a new striker, enhanced by the injury to Harry Kane yesterday against Southampton.

The Star name Ricardo Pereira, Dayot Upamecano, and Raphael Varana as players who have been linked of late.
