Report: Mourinho was offered millions to reject Spurs and wait for this job instead

Tottenham Hotspur have made the best possible start to life under Jose Mourinho across all competitions, with the Special One making it three wins out of three this weekend.

Spurs defeated Bournemouth 3-2, despite being 3-0 up in the game, just as they were in the match against West Ham United the week before.

The Lilywhites also beat Olympiacos 4-2 in mid-week to book their place in the Champions League knockout rounds yet again.

However, one report has revealed that things could have been very different after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked by Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board.

The Sun say that Jose Mourinho was actually offered £12m by Real Madrid to turn down the vacant Spurs job in favour of waiting for Zinedine Zidane to leave the club.

However, Mourinho is said to have turned the offer down as he had his heart set on the move to North London and the Premier League.
