Report: Mourinho to personally spearhead Spurs’ pursuit of 26-year-old

Football Insider claim that Jose Mourinho will personally spearhead Tottenham Hotspur’s attempt to sign Milan Skriniar when the transfer window opens.

Skriniar was heavily linked with a move to Spurs last summer, with photographs even showing Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer chief Steve Hitchen in Milan to allegedly hold talks with the Inter star’s agent.

Tottenham have been backed to make another attempt for the Slovak this summer, who has been in fine form for Antonio Conte’s side over the last few months.

Football Insider now reveal that strengthening at centre-back is Spurs’ priority when the transfer window reopens and Skriniar is the player who Mourinho wants.

The Tottenham boss is said to be a big admirer of the Inter Milan star, who is his number one centre-back target going into the window.

The report reveals that with Spurs laying the groundwork for the deal last summer, the club could look to complete a deal for Skriniar early in the window.

Skriniar has been in good form this season and so his asking price could well have gone up. However, he has just two years left on his current contract with Inter and this summer could thus be the last window where the Nerrazuri can demand a sizable fee for him if he does not sign a new deal.
