Roma are considering a move to sign rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Sven Botman from Lille, according to LaRoma24.
Giallorossi’s CEO Tiago Pinto, fresh off signing Tammy Abraham from Chelsea for €40m, now reportedly wants to bolster Jose Mourinho’s defence with a left-sided centre-half.
The Italian club are said to have two contenders for this role in Botman and Rennes’ centre-back Nayef Aguerd.
Like Roma, Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked to Botman, showing an interest in signing the 21-year-old according to L’Equipe.
However, the report suggests that there are plenty of vultures throughout England – with Newcastle, Manchester City, and fellow Londoners West Ham United all having interest in the defender.
Tottenham have already ventured into the market in this position, signing highly-regarded centre-back Christian Romero from Atalanta for £42.5m.
However, Fabrizio Romano reported on Sky Sports that Fabio Paratici wants another centre-back at Tottenham.

Botman is a talent that I am very surprised hasn’t been talked about more. At only 21, he was a standout performer for Lille in their title-winning campaign. He would be expensive but with his talent and age, he could double his value after one good season.
