Report: Move to Spurs is not seen as ‘an immediate option’ for 18-year-old winger

The print editions of Gazet van Antwerpen and Het Belang van Limburg (as relayed by Sport Witness) are both reporting that Antonio Nusa is not thinking about a move to the Premier League for the time being.

After Nusa’s move to Brentford collapsed in unusual circumstances, with the winger failing a medical at the Gtech Community Stadium, it has been widely reported that Tottenham could go back in for the winger in the summer.

Two weeks ago, Football Insider reported that the Bees had not abandoned their pursuit of the player, with the West London club and Spurs alleged to be doing the groundwork over an agreement in the summer.

The outlet also suggested that the teenager had made up his mind to leave Club Brugge to move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Last week, Het Nieuwsblad named Tottenham and Newcastle as the two front-runners for the Norway international signature in the summer.

However, over the last two days, various sources have suggested that Brentford have pulled out of the race for the winger, having turned their attention to other attackers instead (Sacha Tavolieri).

Premier League move now in doubt for Antonio Nusa

The latest updates from Norway now suggest that Nusa is not thinking about a move to England following his failed January transfer.

Gazet van Antwerpen now report that it was the player who decided to pull the plug on the Brentford deal after the developments last month.

They suggest that a switch to the Premier League is ‘not an immediate option’ for the youngster, who is now fully focused on putting in good performances for Club Brugge.

This has also been backed up by Het Belang van Limburg, who say that Nusa is not considered a move to either Spurs or Newcastle for the time being.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is understandable that Nusa might want some time to get his head straight after the strange circumstances in which his transfer to Brentford fell through.

With the winger having turned down Tottenham’s advances last month to green-light a switch to the Bees, it will be interesting to see Spurs go back in for him in the summer.
