Donley has been far and above the best player in the Under-21 set-up this season, having managed six goals and 11 assists in 11 matches across all competitions (Transfermarkt).
The 18-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder, a number ten, or a conventional striker, was named on the bench by Ange Postecoglou against Liverpool and Wolves.
TEAMtalk have now stated that the youngster has impressed Postecoglou and his coaching staff whenever he has trained with the first team and there is now a growing feeling at the club that he is ready to be tested on a different level.

Is it time for Jamie Donley to go out on loan?
Many at Spurs are thought to be of the belief that teenager has what it takes to be a first-team prospect in the near future.
Postecoglou is soon expected to have a conversation with the club on Donley’s future, with the talks set to revolve around the potential benefit of loaning the attacker out as opposed to him training with the first team.
The publication adds that several League One clubs, including Charlton and Leyton Orient, are alive to the opportunity of the Spurs man being made available on loan.

I would not be surprised if Ange decided that it would be more beneficial for Donley’s development to train with the first team at Spurs regularly before making a potential loan move next summer.
If Tottenham are going to loan out the 18-year-old in January, the challenge would be to find the right club that plays possession-based football and where he would get regular game time.
