Report names 6 players Mourinho fell out with and 4 who were sad to see him go

The Daily Mail has revealed that the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room was extremely divided on Jose Mourinho, with the former Spurs boss falling out with ‘a significant number of his squad’.

It is explained that Toby Alderweireld had a particularly uneasy relationship with Mourinho, who pleaded with the Belgian to leave his newborn baby and wife to play against Aston Villa in a game Tottenham won 3-2 back in February 2020

However, just two weeks later, Alderweireld was axed by Mourinho for a game against Wolves after Tottenham had lost 2-1 to Chelsea and the centre-back was reportedly not best pleased.

It is also revealed that Mourinho did not offer Dele Alli and Harry Winks a sufficient explanation as to why they were marginalised while Serge Aurier is also said to have had a falling out with the Portuguese coach.

Mourinho’s less than ideal treatment of Eric Dier and Gareth Bale is said to have left many at the club surprised.

The report adds that Harry Kane was the most disappointed of all the Spurs players to see the 58-year-old lose his job while Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg were also supportive of the special one.

However, it is asserted that the dressing room was fractured and the atmosphere in the club over the last few weeks has been described as ‘horrendous’.
