Report names three clubs who could hijack Newcastle’s move for Dele Alli

A number of Premier League clubs are interested in taking Dele Alli on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Brighton are the latest club to be monitoring the situation involving the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, while Newcastle United are said to be leading the race.

Burnley, Brighton and Everton are all set to make their move for the 25-year-old if he is still in north London at the beginning of next week.

Borussia Dortmund are also interested in taking the former MK Dons player to Germany, however, a switch to the Bundesliga is considered to be unlikely at this stage.

Dele has struggled since Mauricio Pochettino’s departure as Tottenham head coach in 2019, having scored just ten Premier League goals in his last three campaigns (transfermarkt), a stark contrast from his pomp, where between 2015-18 in the top flight, the England international scored 37 goals in 106 matches and was named in the PFA Team of the Year, twice.

There will be plenty of clubs that will feel they can unlock the old Dele and get him back to his best form. Hopefully, wherever he ends up, he can show that he still has the hunger and desire to become a top player once again.
