Report names four targets Spurs have identified to replace Hugo Lloris in goal

90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, Brentford’s David Raya, Porto’s Diogo Costa and Inter Milan’s Andre Onana as potential candidates to take over the gloves from Hugo Lloris.

Lloris has arguably endured his worst season in a Tottenham shirt this term, being guilty of several unforced errors and also sidelined with multiple injuries for a significant period.

The Spurs captain went off with a thigh injury at half-time during Tottenham’s 6-1 loss at St James’ Park, a game in which he conceded five goals in the first 21 minutes.

The Frenchman has subsequently missed the clashes against Manchester United, Liverpool and Crystal Palace and it was reported by The Evening Standard a couple of days ago that he might not play again this season.

The report suggested that it could mean Lloris has already played his final game for Tottenham, with the North London club alleged to be on the lookout for a new number one.

That information has now been backed up by 90 min, who say that the Lilywhites want to strengthen between the sticks this summer.

The publication names Mamardashvili, Raya, Costa and Onana as the four who are at the top of Spurs’ wishlist.

I expect Raya to be Tottenham’s top target as he is proven in the Premier League and would not cost a fortune, given his contract situation.

However, Spurs could face competition from the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea for the Brentford number one this summer.
