Report names one habit of Conte’s that ‘irked’ many Tottenham players

The Daily Mail have revealed that Antonio Conte’s habit of changing training schedules at very short notice did not sit well with some of the Tottenham squad.

After Spurs confirmed Conte’s departure two days ago, reports are now emerging regarding the squad’s discontent with the Italian’s methods.

The Evening Standard revealed on Monday that it was not just the 53-year-old’s public tirade a week and a half ago that irked the players but they had generally grown tired of his tendency to shift blame, as well as his repetitive training sessions.

The Mail have now also backed up that claim, explaining that the players were frustrated with Conte’s unpredictability, particularly his habit of changing the training schedule at short notice.

The report reveals that the Italian was so furious with the team’s defeat away to Sporting Lisbon in September that he brought their training session forward to 11 am despite the fact that the players only arrived back in London in the early hours of the morning.

This explains why our form dropped considerably over the last few months.

While many will point the finger at the players, Conte’s unpredictable and intense nature is the reason why he does not tend to stick around at clubs for more than two years as the players always seem to get tired of him.
