Report names potential Aurier replacement Spurs have ‘long-standing interest’ in

Football London have reported that Tottenham have a ‘long-standing interest’ in Norwich City right-back, Max Aarons.

The report came after Serge Aurier gave an extremely honest interview about his Tottenham future, claiming that he would not be signing a new deal with there being just 12 months left on his current contract.

Football London claim that if Aurier does leave this summer, Spurs will then look at possible replacements, with Max Aarons being one likely candidate.

However, the report goes on to say that a new right-back will depend on the new head coach, as the next boss may prefer a right-back duo of Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty. Academy talents such as Marcel Lavinier are also mentioned as potential back-ups.

If the new head coach did want to keep the current right-back options, it is said the money from the Aurier sale would go into a new centre-back with leadership qualities, something Spurs lacked this past season.
