Report names the kind of fee Tottenham want for Emerson Royal in January

According to a report in Inter Live, Tottenham want to €25m (£22m) for Emerson Royal this month amidst Inter Milan’s interest in the right-back.

Emerson has fallen behind Matt Doherty in Antonio Conte’s pecking order for the right wing-back role while Tottenham are also reportedly in the market for an addition in that area, with Pedro Porro thought to be the club’s top target (AS).

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold reported on Sunday that if Spurs were to sign another right wing-back this transfer window, they would have to sell one of the three at their disposal, with Emerson being the player that the club are expected to listen to offers for.

This information has now been backed up by InterLive, who claim that the Brazilian has been identified as a target by Inter, who could be on the lookout for Denzel Dumfries’ replacement since the Dutchman could leave the San Siro.

The report states that Tottenham ‘are not asking for more than €25m’ for the former Real Betis man, and that Simone Inzaghi’s men could be tempted to make a move for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not surprised that Tottenham believe that they can make up the full fee that they paid to Real Betis for Emerson 18 months ago.

Despite the 23-year-old’s struggles to adapt to the right wing-back role, he has the attributes to be a top right-back in a back four as he showed during his time in Spain.

However, I am not sure a move to Inter would be the right fit for the Brazilian as Inzaghi, like Conte, also plays with wing-backs.
