The Athletic have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are still hoping to bring in an extra centre-back this summer, in addition to Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.
A deal for Tomiyasu is said to now be close, with the two clubs discussing the final details to a deal that could be worth around £15m plus add-ons.
However, Tottenham are not done there, with the report naming Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard as three other centre-back targets, although it is implied that the list is longer than those three.
In order to make way for these players, The Athletic also claim that Spurs are hoping to sell Serge Aurier and Davinson Sanchez, while Toby Alderweireld is also seeking an exit this summer.
Spurs Web Opinion:
Selling Aurier, Sanchez and Alderweireld and bringing in a new right-back and two centre-backs would be amazing business. While I still rate Toby, I feel that it could be the perfect time for him to leave, both professionally and personally.
