Report names two manager candidates who could replace uncertain Conte

The Daily Mail have reported that Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino could be two possible candidates to become the next Tottenham manager if Antonio Conte leaves the North London club.

Despite a strong start to the 2022/23 Premier League season, Spurs have found themselves falling into somewhat of a slump in recent months, with the latest defeat coming in the North London Derby against Arsenal.

The Mail now claim that Conte’s position as Spurs head coach is becoming increasingly uncertain as his deal runs out at the end of the season. Both parties allegedly agree it would be pointless to extend by another 12 months if their visions do not align.

If Conte decides to walk away or Spurs decide against even offering him an extension, the Daily Mail suggest that former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is an ‘obvious’ candidate, although it is unknown whether he would be interested in the job.

Pochettino is also mentioned, although the report adds it is unknown whether the Tottenham board would actually be interested in a return.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Sometimes, it doesn’t make sense to go back. But I feel Tottenham are now lacking a clear direction and connection with the fans. Perhaps Pochettino could be a way to get that back, even if it is a risk. He may also be the only manager capable of convincing Harry Kane to stay.
