Report: Napoli eyeing move for star Spurs only signed last summer

SportItalia journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Napoli could make a move for Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon this summer.

Spurs signed Reguilon from Real Madrid for £27m last summer, and the left-back made a fabulous start to his time at North London.

He quickly established himself as a regular in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven and was one of the club’s most consistent performers in the first few months of the campaign.

However, much like the rest of the Spurs squad, the 24-year-old’s form dipped considerably after the turn of the year.

The Spaniard particularly struggled towards the end of the season, making some unforced defensive mistakes that ended up costing his side.

If Galetti is to be believed, Reguilon could be on his way out of Tottenham just 12 months on from joining the club.

The journalist claims that Napoli have been long time admirers of the Tottenham star and that he is one of the options they are eying this summer, with Luciano Spalletti’s side keen on strengthening at left-back.

He also asserts that Tottenham would want €25-30m (£21.5-25.8m) for Reguilon.

Reguilon did struggle during the final few months of the season but one cannot judge him too harshly for those performances given that last season was his first year in English football. I would be surprised if Spurs consider offers for the Spaniard this summer.
