Report: Napoli set to make second offer for Spurs-linked winger

Tottenham Hotspur may have received a blow in any aspirations they have had to sign rumoured target Jeremie Boga with reports suggesting that Napoli are ready to step up their interest in the Ivory Coast international.

Boga has been in impressive form for the Italian side since making the move from Chelsea last summer, having scored eleven goals and delivered four assists in Serie A this season (transfermarkt.com).

CalcioMercato reported back in March that Tottenham had expressed their interest in bringing the former Chelsea winger back to England.

However, reports indicate that the Lilywhites face considerable competition for the Sassuolo star’s signature, with clubs from England, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France said to be tracking the 23-year-old.

Foot Mercato claim that Napoli are determined to land the winger this summer.

It is suggested that the Gennaro Gattuso’s side have already seen a £20million offer for Boga turned down by Sassuolo.

However, Napoli are expected to return with an improved bid to try and land Boga ahead of next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Boga has had a very good season but I am not convinced that he will be a hit in the Premier League. We have seen time and again that wide forwards and wingers have trouble replicating their Serie A success in the Premier League. Boga is a raw talent and far from the finished product at the moment.
