Report: Napoli set to move for player who only left Spurs in the summer

CalcioMercato.it claim that Napoli are now ready to make a move for former Tottenham centre-back Davinson Sanchez, just six months on from his move from the North London club to Galatasaray.

Sanchez joined Galatasaray back in September in a deal worth €9.5m (£8.1m) and he has made an impressive start to life in Turkey, having established himself as a mainstay in the club’s backline.

However, it has now emerged that the Colombian might be on the move again, with Napoli now keen on taking him to Italy.

Napoli have made contact about Davinson Sanchez

CalcioMercato.it has now claimed that the Serie A club’s owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has promised to deliver a centre-back this window, and now that Radu Dragusin appears to be edging close to a move to Spurs, he has decided to make advances on Sanchez.

The report alleges that Napoli has already made contact with the former Spurs star’s representative and that the player is thought to be keen on the idea of moving to Naples this month.

It is explained that this is not the first time that the Partenopei have tried to sign Sanchez, with the club having explored loan deals for the player when he was at Tottenham.

However, the publication says that Walter Mazzarri’s men could finally get the 27-year-old through the door this month, asserting that an offer of around €8m (£7m) would be enough to clinch the transfer.

Spurs Web Opinion

We have certainly not heard anything about a release clause in Sanchez’s contract with Galatasaray. So, I find it hard to believe that the Turkish club would be willing to sell the Colombian for a lower fee than they paid to sign him from Spurs last summer.
