Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne will speak with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis next Tuesday to discuss his future at the Italian club amid links with Tottenham Hotspur (Sky Italia).
Two weeks ago, well-respected Italian journalist Paolo Paganini reported that Spurs had made an ‘important offer’ for the Napoli winger (AreaNapoli).
The 30-year-old’s contract runs out next year in 2022 which means the winger could potentially begin to sign a pre-contract agreement in January or leave the club as a free agent next summer.
However, if Napoli fail to agree on a new contract, the Italian club would have to sell the star this summer or in January to claim a fee.
Insigne is an Azzuri legend, playing 397 times in all competitions: scoring 109 times. The winger is fresh off winning the Euros with Italy, scoring two goals in the tournament.
The 30-year-old now has a big next decision to make and will discuss on Tuesday where his future lies.
Insigne is a star. He has always been rumoured with a big move to the Premier League but it has never come to happen.
But with his contract coming to an end it feels like if it’s ever going to happen, it’s this summer or next. Although a move to a team not in the Champions League seems unlikely given his quality.
