Report: Napoli’s social media hint could come as transfer blow to Spurs

Napoli have dropped a hint on social media about potentially signing rumoured Tottenham target Isco before deleting the post, The Daily Express have revealed.

Isco endured a difficult campaign last time out, failing to score a single goal in his 25 league appearances for Real Madrid and he subsequently missed on the Spain squad for the European Championships.

The attacking midfielder is now into the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and some sources have claimed that Spurs are eyeing a £14m move for him.

It has also been suggested that the Real Madrid star is of interest to AC Milan, who are eyeing the 29-year-old as a potential replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.

It now looks as though Tottenham could face competition from another Italian club in the form of Napoli for Isco.

The Express have revealed that the Serie A club put out a tweet that read: “Isco – Google search” before deleting it.

That suggests that Luciano Spalletti’s are confident of winning the race for the Los Blancos star.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite Isco being available on a cut-price deal due to his contract situation, I would be very surprised if Spurs tried to sign the attacking midfielder. The 29-year-old does not really seem like a natural fit for Nuno’s style of play. In fact, I would expect the Portuguese coach to prefer hanging on to Dele over signing the Real Madrid man.
