Report: Ndombele announcement expected ‘shortly’ after he arrives in London

Tottenham Hotspur finally appear to be close to ending their year and a half transfer drought this week, with two deals nearing completion.

If reports are to be believed, it will be a straight race between Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele to become Tottenham’s first signing of the summer.

Clarke is said to be completing his medical today ahead of a £10m plus add-ons move to North London (Guardian). The 18-year-old impressed during his breakthrough season in the Championship last year.

The Sun also report that an announcement on Ndombele is expected ‘shortly’ after the Frenchman travelled to the Hotspur Way training ground to have a tour of the facilities.

The report indicates that Mauricio Pochettino conducted the tour himself, as he looks to win his first trophy at Spurs next season.

The deal for Ndombele with Lyon is said to be worth around £65m, which would be a new Tottenham club record signing (Sky Sports).
