Report: Ndombele’s arrival could spell the end for this Spurs player

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to smash their transfer record in the coming days with the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon (Standard).

The 22-year-old French midfielder is expected to put pen to paper on a long term deal in North London and is a player who is defensively strong and technically good on the ball.

Ndombele is being tipped to be a vital signing to help bolster the Tottenham midfield following the departure of Mousa Dembele in January to China.

The Mirror are reporting that Ndombele’s arrival could mean the end of Victor Wanyama’s time in North London.

The Kenyan has had a tough couple of years at the club after battling with persistent knee problems which have significantly limited his game time.

Wanyama had an impressive first season at White Hart Lane following his switch from Southampton but has now fallen way down the pecking order behind Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko.

It now looks as if he could see his future lie elsewhere come the start of the new season.
