Report: Ndombele’s PSG move called off – But he still has ‘several’ options

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele will not join Paris Saint-Germain this month as the French side have not been able to free up space for his arrival, according to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard.

Spurs have been in talks to send Ndombele to the Ligue 1 giants in a loan move this month (The Guardian) with the 25-year-old dropping down the pecking order in North London.

The Telegraph reported that PSG were hoping to insert an option-to-buy clause in a potential deal, but Spurs were insistent on applying an obligation instead to guarantee an exit for the Frenchman.

Now, Maynard claims that while the terms regarding Ndombele’s salary were not an issue, there was simply not enough space in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad to see a move materialise.

Maynard also reports the Spurs man still has ‘several leads’ to secure a move away this month, with La Liga side Valencia keeping firm tabs on the midfielder’s situation.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is pretty significant news regarding Ndombele, as Spurs needed to clear the finances and space for incomings. There is still time remaining to find him a club this month, but it will be a tough one to pull off considering many teams will struggle to finance a move, even on loan.
