Report: New candidate emerges as a contender for Spurs job

VfL Wolfsburg boss, Oliver Glasner has emerged as one of the contenders for the Tottenham Hotspur job, according to Sportitalia TV journalist Gianluigi Longari.

Several names have been put forward as contenders for the Tottenham job over the last few days following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

With Tottenham’s top target, Julian Nagelsmann, on his way to Bayern Munich at the end of the season, the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Erik Ten Hag, Gareth Southgate, Roberto Martinez and Ralf Rangnick are said to be on the North Londoners’ radar.

Glasner, who has taken Wolfsberg to new heights of late, is the latest man to be linked with the Spurs hot seat.

The Austrian had four successful seasons in charge of LASK before taking control at Wolfsberg in 2019 and led the club to a respectable seventh-place finish in his first season in charge.

Wolfsberg now look on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League, currently sitting third in the table behind Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.

Longari took to social media to reveal that the 46-year-old and Ten Hag are on Tottenham’s shortlist.
