Report: New club enter race to sign Tottenham’s Bryan Gil on loan

Cadiz have entered the race to sign Tottenham winger Bryan Gil on loan this summer, according to Diario de Cadiz.

On the back of Gil’s impressive showing on loan at Valencia during the second half of last season, Los Che are said to be keen on extending the winger’s stay at the club (AS -30/05/22 via Sport Witness).

Mundo Deportivo reported a month ago that Valencia could face competition from Real Sociedad for the winger while, according to Fabrizio Romano, Marseille have also expressed an interest in the 21-year-old over recent weeks.

Diario de Cadiz have now stated that Cadiz are also keen on signing Gil, with the Tottenham man alleged to be a long-term target for the club.

The report claims that Cadiz tried to snap up the Spain international last summer before Tottenham successfully signed him from Sevilla.

It is asserted that if Spurs ‘open the door’ for a loan move for Gil, the club are ready to pounce.

The La Liga side are allegedly continuing to ‘keep an eye’ on the situation but it is explained that if Tottenham do sanction a loan move for the winger, it is likely to be in the final two weeks of August.

The main consideration for the Spurs hierarchy in deciding Gil’s destination would be to ensure the winger gets regular minutes under his belt. It seems like the North Londoners are not convinced that the 21-year-old will play regularly under Gattuso at the Mestalla next season.
