According to journalist Ciro Venerato (13/06/22 TG Sport Morning of RAI show – as relayed by InsideFutbol), Napoli have now entered the race for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who is said to be on Tottenham’s radar.
Antonio Conte reportedly wants to add two central defenders to his squad this summer, particularly if Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez leave, with Bremer said to be one of the names on the wishlist (Football.London).
Inter Milan are also said to hold a serious interest in the Torino star (The Evening Standard) but Corriere Granata claimed last week that Spurs could be about to launch an offer of around €35m (£30m) plus bonuses for the 25-year-old.
Tuttosport even asserted on Sunday that the Brazilian’s representatives are set to fly to London to meet with the Tottenham hierarchy to discuss a potential transfer.
However, Venerato has now claimed that the North Londoners could face competition for Bremer from another Serie A club in the form of Napoli.
Luciano Spalletti’s side are said to have reached out to the centre-back’s agent Paolo Busardo to explore bringing the player to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Spurs Web Opinion
I initially thought that the only thing that was preventing Spurs from pushing ahead with a deal for Bremer was Inter’s interest in the Brazilian.
The North Londoners might have been willing to let the Nerazzurri snap up the 25-year-old if it meant that they would let Bastoni leave.
However, now that Bastoni looks likely to stay put at the San Siro, one would expect the Lilywhites to push ahead with a deal for the Torino star.
