Report: Manager ‘waiting in the wings’ amidst Spurs fears that Poch will quit

The Sun have reported that Max Allegri is ‘waiting in the wings’ as Tottenham fear that Mauricio Pochettino may quit his job in North London.

This comes after Tottenham have picked up just two wins from the first eight games of the new season, including a shock loss in the League Cup to Colchester United this week.

Allegri, a serial winner in his last job with Juventus, is said to be taking a year out from management to weigh up his next football challenge.

Whilst he did win five Serie A titles at Juve, Allegri was the runner-up in two Champions League finals during his time at the club, something Spurs know a little about.

The report claims that Allegri would put himself in the running if Pochettino does decide to walk out on Tottenham after five years at the club.

However, Daniel Levy is said to be backing Pochettino and hoping that he chooses to remain at the football club.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Poch does choose to leave, Allegri would be an extremely competent choice. However, I am a firm believer that Pochettino is still the man!
